Lynton and Lynmouth for Howard's birthday.

If you feel you've seen a bit of this before then it's because you probably read this post in 2014.

Lynton and Lynmouth are lovely places and as a favourite of Howard they were chosen for his 65th birthday treat.  We arrived to thick sea mist
Yes there is a headland under there somewhere. This time we didn't do all the walking (saving Garrie's leg) so after a look around Lynmouth we headed down the water driven funicular to Lynmouth.
Lynmouth is such a quaint place.
Our main event though was lunch.
Garrie and I chose beef and Stilton, Howard steak and ale and Chris, traditional.
Now we hunted for clotted cream ice cream with added clotted cream for dessert. Sadly no clotted cream today so had to settle for the ice cream alone, (which I was too excited to eat to photograph).
I did take something for Katrina and Andrew if they are reading this.
And was tempted to buy a packet of these.
Beautiful Victorian lights.
Beautiful rivers.
English seating arrangements for river viewing (1.5GBP per day)
We headed back up and in Linton And the mist had lifted.
And I had to take this pretty flower growing along the way.
Back to the Valley of the Rocks and more beautiful views.
The boys taking a break.
The Lowe family.
Oh and to finish off the birthday boy in his new shirt.
A half decent shot of a bullfinch (which will be improved when I return to my full editing facilities)
And finally yesterday's beer of the day.
Off to the Kings Arms for Howard's birthday dinner, again courtesy of Mum. Thanks Mum, we love you! Xxx
